ECP Middle School

A year ago, the Oklahoma Education Technology Trust announced the 20 schools that were selected to receive grants for the 2020-2021 school year. Elmore City-Pernell Middle School was one of those 20 schools statewide!

Established to provide the latest technologies and teacher training to Oklahoma schools, OETT, administered by Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, awarded our school $40,000 to purchase new technology equipment. Additionally, our school received monthly professional development through OETT’s partnership with the K20 Center at the University of Oklahoma focused on integrating technology to enhance authentic, real-world learning in their classrooms.

ECP Middle School used this money to purchase 103 Chromebooks helping our district obtain a 1:1 student-to-device ratio. We were also able to purchase a classroom set of 30 Google Expeditions Virtual Reality Devices which provided and will continue to provide our students' amazing virtual reality opportunities to learn about concepts and places our students might never otherwise have the chance.

“As our world becomes increasingly reliant upon technology, the exposure students receive at school is shaping their future and becoming more critical than ever,” said Communities Foundation Executive Director, Teresa Rose Crook. “OETT is proud to be able to aid schools in bridging the gap between their students and the necessary technology they need to be prepared for the 21st-century workforce.”
